Hi Tim - At DePaul we used to use a hot site vendor, we now have our own recovery site at one of our other campuses. We currently have some servers active and some that would need to be turned on at time of disaster, so I'd say we are using more of a warm site. Our recovery time objective is 3 days(hoping to shrink that in the near future). We currently have our backup system at the alternate site so if we need the data we have it at the recovery site. We would like to do mirroring or some type of data replication so that we can keep the data in sync as well. Our goal is that in one year we will have two live data centers, if a disaster occurs we will be up but at around 40% to 50% of capacity for our mission critical applications. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
