Proximity card authentication solutions?

Has anyone out there deployed or tested any proximity card authentication solutions? I'd be interested in hearing about any successes or failures. We're starting to look around at solutions because we're getting a lot of complaints from our clinical users and researchers regarding our computer logoff/lock policy. We've identified a couple of potential solutions, but I'd be interested to hear about any additional players in this space. Please respond off-list if it suits and I'd be happy to put together a consolidated report back to this list detailing what I've heard.
