Exchange should be able to do some of this. Exchange 5.5 has the ability to turn off mail relaying (i.e. only send email to or from a particular domain). That way they could at least prevent people from using their SMTP server as a spam relay. It's possible the presence of Raptor may short-circuit that.
The weird thing here is what sometimes seems to happen to Exchange if you patch it up to 5.5. We had a customer who had correctly patched the server (they say), and it seemed right. The only problem was that the changes in the GUI etc. didn't lead to any change. It said it shouldn't relay, but it did it anyway. We solved it by putting another MTA in between (with port redirections etc), since they did not want to reinstall at that time. -- Thorkild
