does warchalking exist - 2nd hand evidence

To Paul's question from a week or two ago:

There's a brief note in the News section of the current issue of
Communications of ACM (a very respectable academic journal) about 
warchalking. The article gave a link to a web site 
    http://www.warchalking.org/. 
I looked at it briefly. Some people posted photos on that site, 
from various places in the worlds, with the alleged chalk 
marks showing. It didn't seem to be a hoax (too much effort IMHO ;-).

I conclude that perhaps warchalking is less common than the hype 
indicates, but it does exist.

I have not seen warchalking first-hand, though.
