Nah, these're too prosaic to be British beer names. Our decent beers tend  
to have brewers slang (XXXB); Britishness (Victory, Pedigree); Obscure  
references (Black Sheep, White Dwarf) or dodgy sexual meanings (can't  
actually think of any at the moment).

If you're thinking of beers like John Smith's or Boddington's; then nobody  
who actually likes beer drinks them outside of the 10 mile area where  
they're brewed.

Guinness is good as most places sell it and you can instantly tell the  
cleaniness of the pipes with one sip of Guinness (there's a sort of Whisky  
aftertaste when the pipes are bad). But, it travels badly so US Guinness  
tends to be vile.
