February 2026
=============

The accounted activities in February stand for 142:45 working hours and
38 commits (29 in libpcap and 9 in tcpdump-htdocs). There are 216 new
tests in libpcap.

The main direction of work in libpcap was the completion of the new TCP
flag matching syntax research, which produced a few useful by-products,
some of which have already been committed. In particular, the tcp[],
udp[], icmp[], igmp[], pim[], vrrp[], carp[], sctp[] and igrp[] packet
data accessors now generate shorter unoptimised filter programs. The
new syntax implementation still needs minor finish before merging.

Other accounted activities include:

* implementation of cross-compiling tests in the CI build matrix,
* various code clean-ups,
* a few minor improvements to pcap-filter(7),
* progressing of the bug report and pull request queues,
* minor improvements to the DAG module,
* various infrastructure upkeep work,
* various manual testing, and
* web site updates.
